| Be still...
What a concept. In our crazy hustle bustle society being still is alomst not an option sometimes. We have to be super intentional about stopping to allow the Lord to quiet our spirits. Sometimes when I am attempting to be still before the Lord, my mind is racing so much about what I have to get done, I can't be still. It would be great if we didn't have to work so hard to be still before the Lord. Maybe some of you have being still figured out, but I am still working on it. Being still is tough.
Lord help us to quiet our spirits with your presence.
| Sarah Reed, this is for you because you are about the only one that reads this thing I think. Things are going well. Crazy busy with close down and summer staff getting ready to start. I remember thinking when I was in college that I could not wait to get out of school so I wouldn't be so busy. Man was I wrong. I am WAY more busy now than I was in school.
I start summer classes soon. Why is it that when we start things, we always want them to finish fast? In high school and college you can't wait to finish and then realize you rushed for nothing. I guess I should just enjoy grad. school while I can. :) (that sounds like my mom) Anyway, just a bunch of rambling. My building is scary quiet. Its inhabitants have all gone MIA.
| Ok, two months without a post is long enough. I have been done with school for 2 and a half weeks, Relay For Life is over, and summer is almost here. I am going to miss the girls in my building so much next year. I know you will all be at West U, but that means I will not see you very much. I know that the girls coming over are going to be amazing and that I won't want them to leave either. I guess that just says, we have great girls here at OBU! Congrats on finishing Civ. and good luck to those of you heading my way who are about to start it. | | |
| And the spring cleaning has begun. I have a ridiculously long list of things to do over spring break. Some of the items are work related and others are personal. I hope I stay as motivated as I am this morning. I think it is all doable if I don't lose my already found motivation.
I told my RAs that they had to do something mindless for at least 5 hours over the break. I am going to take my own advice. In fact, I already have watched a ton of NCAA basketball. (all day Saturday) I hope you all find your break productive, restful, and fun.
| How about those Oscars! Yeah for Crash. If you have not yet seen the film, you should. It does a great job of portraying how racism really cripples us as a society. It does have some sex scenes and cussing so if you are sensitive to those things, you may want to think about whether or not you want to see it.
Best acceptance speech - George Clooney. I loved Reese too though. I was hoping Philip Seymour Hoffman would keep the bet with his college friends about barking his acceptance speech. I mean, the March of the Penguin guy made penguin noises.
Anyway, I was pleased overall with the results. Shocked by the Brokeback upset, but glad that Crash won. And 36 Mafia is now part of the academy for their Oscar winning song "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp."
